Texas Energy Efficiency Programs for Businesses

SWEPCO offers its Texas business customers five energy efficiency programs.

  1. COMPASS for Large Commercial offers both cash and non-cash incentives to local government and businesses in SWEPCO's Texas service territory for making energy efficiency improvements. These incentives are available for qualifying measures in new and retrofit projects.   2. COMPASS for Small Business offers tailor-made solutions for Texas small businesses with a peak demand less than or equal to 100 kW. This program connects interested customers with participating contractors that are qualified to provide design and installation services for energy efficient technologies.   3. COMPASS for Schools provides no-cost support to participating schools in SWEPCO's Texas service territory through a combination of tools, services and incentives for participants to complete qualifying renovation and new construction projects that result in peak electric demand savings. Incentives are based on the savings generated by the project.   4. The Commercial Standard Offer Program (CSOP) provides incentives for new construction and retrofit installation of a wide range of measures that reduce demand and save energy at eligible facilities in SWEPCO's Texas service territory. Incentives are paid to energy service providers (Project Sponsors/Market Actors) on the basis of deemed savings, or verified demand and energy savings.   5. The Load Management Standard Offer Program (LMSOP) offers incentives to energy efficiency service providers such as customers, energy service companies or contractors for load interruptions of electric consumption on short notice during peak demand periods. Incentives are based on verified demand savings that occur at the SWEPCO distribution customer's site as a result of an interruption.
