What You Need to Know
- Beryl was a beast and left more than 2 million Texans without power when it first made landfall and continued to barrel through the ArkLaTex on Monday, unleashing a barrage of severe weather.
- As of 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, power has been restored to roughly 40,000 ArkLaTex customers and crews continue to work as quickly and safely as possible to restore service to everyone.

CURRENT SITUATION
Restoration work is ongoing in the ArklaTex region after Beryl caused widespread damage. SWEPCO crews, in partnership with other utility professionals, are working to rebuild key infrastructure and restore power to the remaining customers without service.
Damage assessment shows multiple repairs needed in hard-to-access locations, including heavily wooded or flooded areas.
As of 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, SWEPCO successfully and safely restored power to approximately 40,000 customers.
Because of the extensive flooding and hard-to-reach, sometimes treacherous terrain, the work may be slower as SWEPCO works to complete more challenging work in hard-to-reach, often inaccessible areas. Safety for one another remains top of mind as crews continue to work in dangerous conditions.

Estimated Time of Restoration (ETRs)
As part of SWEPCO’s storm restoration assessment process, the company has shared estimated restoration times for areas impacted by the storm.
Based on the number of outages and crews available, we developed a Global Estimated Time of Restoration or ETR, which is an estimate of how long it will take to restore 95% of all customers affected.
The more damage there is to the system, the further out in time the global ETR will be. Please note these restoration times could change based on the complexity of repairs.

Peak Impacts from Beryl
At 11 p.m. Monday, July 8, a peak of 48,831 SWEPCO customers had power disrupted as a result of Beryl and the severe weather it brought. The region experienced a record-breaking 67 tornado warnings from the National Weather Service.

What should customers do if they see downed lines?
Don't touch it or anything near it. Even telephone or cable lines can become energized. Keep yourself and others as far away as possible and call 911 or SWEPCO immediately at (888) 218-3919.
CAN YOU RECEIVE POWER?
Now is the time for customers to determine whether their home can receive power - SWEPCO cannot connect power to a home or business if there is damage to the service entrance, which is owned by the customer.
