Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO) is proud to continue its "Ways to Save" video series, this week shining a spotlight on Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).
Each Tuesday, ArkLaTex residents can learn proven tips, incentives, and programs that can help them learn how to reduce energy consumption and save money on KTBS. This week’s segment features Paul Pratt, SWEPCO’s director of Customer Services and Marketing, and Amanda Keeney, director of Communications, who explain the benefits of LIHEAP and how Louisiana residents can apply for winter heating assistance through the program.
“With LIHEAP program, it’s first-come, first-serve for those qualified applicants, and we want to make sure that our local residents and neighbors in need know that help is available,” Keeney said.
Louisianians can get help to pay winter heating bills Nov. 15.- March 15, or until funds are depleted on a first-come, first-served basis. Arkansas residents can apply Jan. 8- April 30. Texas residents can apply year-round.
Pratt said SWEPCO wants to make it easier for customers to find information about the federal program.
‘We want to give customers tools in their toolbox to manage their energy usage and help pay their bills during tough times,” Pratt said.
