January 31, 2024

SHREVEPORT, La. (Jan. 31, 2024) – Southwestern Electric Power Co. (SWEPCO, a subsidiary of American Electric Power (Nasdaq: AEP) is seeking submissions for its three Request for Proposals (RFPs) for additional generation and capacity resources to supply the needs of its customers and comply with Southwest Power Pool’s planning reserve margin requirement.

In accordance with Louisiana regulatory requirements, SWEPCO issued the draft RFP November 29, 2023. Those wishing to participate and submit an RFP can learn more at https://www.swepco.com/business/b2b/energy-rfps/

Proposals are due April 3, 2024. Response and contact information are available online at SWEPCO.com/rfp. Proposals selected from the three RFPs are subject to appropriate regulatory approvals.
