GENTRY, ARK.—Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ricky Weber as the new Plant Manager for the Flint Creek power plant in Gentry and the Harry D. Mattison plant in Tontitown. Weber has been serving in an interim capacity since early June and officially assumed his new role on August 4.

Weber’s journey with SWEPCO began in 2008 as an instrument and electrical technician at Flint Creek. His dedication and expertise led to his promotion to Maintenance Supervisor in 2014 and later to Maintenance Superintendent in 2022. His extensive experience and leadership qualities have now culminated in his current position as Plant Manager.

“I am honored to take on this new role and lead the dedicated teams at Flint Creek and Mattison,” said Weber. “Our focus will remain on safety, reliability, and efficiency in our operations. I look forward to continuing our work to provide reliable energy to our community.”

Monte McMahon, Vice President of Generating Assets, expressed his confidence in Weber’s leadership. “Ricky has demonstrated exceptional dedication and expertise throughout his career at SWEPCO. His leadership as interim plant manager has been outstanding. We are excited to see him continue to drive success at Flint Creek and Mattison,” said McMahon.

Weber's educational background includes participation in an electrical apprenticeship program at the Arkansas College of Electricity from 2001 to 2003, followed by completion of the program at Northwest Arkansas Community College in 2005.

Weber takes over, after former plant manager Sara Vestfals was appointed to plant manager for Arsenal Hill and J. Lamar Stall in Shreveport, La., and Lieberman in Mooringsport, La.
