Stay Informed with SWEPCO Alerts: A Guide to Customizing Your Notifications

KTBS' Jan Elkins talks to Brooke Rinaudo, SWEPCO Corporate Communications Representative, about SWEPCO alerts and how to utilize the alerts to stay on top of your account and manage energy usage more efficiently.

 As part of its commitment to customer education and energy-saving strategies, SWEPCO offers a variety of alert options to keep customers informed about their accounts.

SWEPCO Communications leader Brooke Rinaudo shared the importance of staying connected during the latest KTBS “Ways to Save with SWEPCO” segment.

“Signing up for alerts ensures that customers stay informed about important account activities and power outages,” said Brooke Rinaudo, SWEPCO Corporate Communications Representative. “These notifications provide timely updates, helping customers manage their energy usage and account effectively. For instance, knowing when a power outage is expected to be resolved can help in making necessary arrangements, and receiving billing alerts ensures there are no surprises.”

Customizable alerts can be received via text and email and provide timely updates on outages, billing, and payment activities.

Alerts are text and/or email messages sent to SWEPCO customers to inform them of account activity. Customers can tailor their preferences to receive alerts for:

  • Outages: Notifications when there is a power outage at their home or business, including restoration time updates, notifications when power is restored, and details for large-scale outages caused by storms and other major events.
  • Billing and Payment: Alerts for account activity, such as notifications five days before a payment is withdrawn, confirmation of payment received, and updates when autopay settings are changed.

Customers can also sign up for email newsletters on topics that interest them, such as energy efficiency, rebates and incentives, and new programs and promotions.

To sign up for alerts, customers can visit SWEPCO.com/alerts. There is no limit to the number of people who can receive alerts for an account. Each person wishing to receive alerts must create their own user identification and password to add their cell phone number and/or email address.

Customizing SWEPCO alerts is a simple and effective way to stay on top of your account and manage energy usage more efficiently. By keeping preferences updated, customers can receive timely information and make informed decisions about their energy consumption and account management.
